Do you think we should protect all children?

I get emails from the Foundations of Truth and the one I got today follows a train of thought that has been coming to me when I see a certain commercial on TV. The commercial is wanting everyone to make sure that children, those under eighteen get a covid-19 jab. Then it makes the statement that our children are important.

When it makes that statement, I think about all the children that are aborted every day around the world. This then brings to my mind the commercial for Covenant Houses for children that have runaway from home for one reason or another. The one where it asks the question; “How young do they have to be?”

How many Christians think it is okay to abort an individual that has their own set of DNA that is different then their mothers? God even told a prophet that He knew him when he was in his mother’s womb. To me this implies that they are people that are being killed. And if you know the Ten Commandments, you know that God said, “Thou shalt not kill.”

Do Christians believe that the Whole Bible is true?

9/19/2021

A poll by George Barna showed Americans have a positive view of the Bible, however I wonder how many actually believe it to be true and how many actually try to live by it. I can have a positive view of Constitution of the USA, the question is do I believe in it? Do I believe that it will protect me?

The Bible is something that we need to believe in and to live by it. To live by it we have to learn it. To quote part of the article which I have listed the link to it at the end of this article.

“A recent poll by George Barna showed that, “Americans have a positive view of the Bible. And many say the Christian scriptures are filled with moral lessons for today.” Well, that sounds positive. The problem arises when we see that Christians are not far off of the same opinion. There is a big difference between a “positive feeling” regarding the Bible and a belief that the Bible is God’s inspired Word to us.”

Not only do we need to “have a positive view” of the Bible, God’s Holy Word, we need to believe what it says and to live by it. We will be different from the world if we believe in God’s Word. Leviticus 19:2 states “Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.” Which is only one place that states that God wants us to be like Him. Therefore, we cannot be like the world around us with just a positive view of the Bible; we need to believe in it and learn it.

Do we need to hear of things we are not to do?

9/12/2021

I have recently heard a woman state that she liked how her pastor preached. Always preaching on how you should live your life, the things you should do, what God approves of and never on things that are sin in our lives. Thanks to the many years and many preachers that have taught me over the years, it didn’t sound right to me.

While sitting here reading the sixth chapter of Deuteronomy it caused me to think about God and His Word, the Bible. Verse one states “Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:”. I noticed that we are to teach His commandments and His statutes as well as His judgments.

To teach His commandments, hmmm, doesn’t His commandments tell us things we are to do and are not to do? As I pondered this my mind went to the Ten Commandments that God, Himself, gave to Moses. Yes, some of them are teaching us to do and live right such as honoring our parents, putting God first and nothing before Him. Then there are the ones that tell us what we should not do which is telling us how not to live. In other words, God, Himself, gives us both viewpoints, how to live and how not to live. God said “Thou shalt not” ten times in the Ten Commandments which leads me to thinking that we need to focus on what God tells us NOT to do just as much as we focus on what we ARE to do.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for our instruction manual, Your Bible. Thank you for our instructor, the Holy Ghost, and our brother, the Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son. Help us in this world do what You want us to do and not follow the carnal nature.

Guide us in Your ways. Amen.

Prayer not allowed in school - Did this start today's world?

9/5/2021

In 1999, I received this poem in an email. All I know of the person that wrote is; her name, Jodi Morgan, and that she was twelve years old and lived in Boston.

Now I sit me down in school

Where praying is against the rule.

For this great country under God

Finds mention of him very odd.

If scripture now the class recites

It violates the bill of rights.

Anytime my head I bow

Becomes a federal matter now.

The law is specific; the law is precise

Praying out loud in no longer nice.

Praying out loud in a public hall

Upsets those who believe in nothing at all.

In silene alone we can meditate

And if God gets the credit-Great!

They are bringing their guns;

I don’t dare bring my bible,

To do so might make me liable.

So, now oh Lord, this plea I make,

Should I be shot in school,

My soul please take. . Jodi Morgan

Pray for those trapped in Afghanistan

8/29/2021

For some time now we, those who listen to the news and those involved with politics have heard about the fiasco in Afghanistan. The country that has stood for freedom for over 200 years has; thrown the baby out with the dishwater, as the old saying goes. Leaving Americans, Afghanizations and several other nationalities in the hands of people who has shown a lack of respect for human life. Not just one color, all colors. They have shown that they have not changes during all the years that they have been in our news reports.

The thing that has just stood out to me is that no one is asking us to pray for all the people in Afghanistan.

We need to pray for them, all religions.

Will you help me pray for them?

Dear heavenly Father, you dear Lord see all the innocent lives in Afghanistan and I ask that you give boldness to the Christians so they may lead others to you. That you give them strength, grace and mercy while they are in the land that appears to hate you. Send your angels to help protect them. Give them courage. And remind us all to pray for them.
