Have you eaten today?

12/24/17

John 4:34-38 (KJV)
34  Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
35  Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
36  And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37  And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38  I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

We know the story of the Samaritan Woman. Today God directed me to the passage of Jesus talking to his disciples while she was in the city talking to those who would listen. Verse 34 states: My meat is to do the will of him that sent me.

For years, I have heard the old saying: A week without eating will make you weak. Talking about Christians not reading their Bible, praying or even going to church would make Christians weak and if they continued this practice that they would backslide or lose their Salvation. Here Jesus is telling us that if we do the will of God we will stay strong.

Therefore, brothers and sisters in the Lord let us do the will of God. This means we should read our Bible on a daily basis, have a special place and time for prayer yet be willing to prayer at the drop of a pin as the old saying goes. If we do this then we will not be happy sitting in a church pew doing nothing nor will we be silent outside of the church walls. We will be working in the harvest field. We will be feeding our souls while we are feeding those around us.

God's Word is Reliable

10/12/17

Daniel 6:15, 25-27 (KJV)
15 Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.

25  Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
26  I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.
27  He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

Christians believe in God and know that the Bible is God’s Word. We should all believe that it is true and does not change. This is how the Law of the Medes and Persians was. In the Book of Esther is mentions this as well as the Book of Daniel. If men believed that a mortal man’s law would not change why then are we trying to change God’s Word?

American laws are changing even as you read this. Somewhere there are people trying to come up with a better law or a law that protects a certain thing that has not been protected up to this point. What used to be the laws of the land may not be that today and what is law today may not be in the future. For example in Texas, it used to be against the law to carry a pair of wire cutters. Why, because there was too much cattle rustling by the thieves cutting the barbwire fences; now this law is outdated.

However, as Christians we need to believe and act on the fact that God’s Word DOES NOT change. It has not and it will not change to suit mankind’s will. This is one of the reasons that we, as a nation, needs to be reading and learning what God has written in his book, the Bible. If we know what the Bible states then we will know when someone tries to tell us differently. Because, the devil is trying to lead you astray from God’s Word.

Yes, men can make mistakes; however, some men change the Bible because they do not like what it says. We cannot know when they change it to suit their purpose unless we know what it says to begin with.

Dearest Lord, thank you for being steadfast and dependable. For I need you to be the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. I need someone that will not let me down. Thank you for being a forgiving God who will forgive me when I fall and repent. Help me learn thy ways and grow in you until you call me home. Amen.

...Break off thy Sins by Rightousness... Daniel 4:27

12/10/2017

Daniel 4:30-33 (KJV)
30  The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?
31  While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
32  And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
33  The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.

The king had been given warning a year before this happened. We know that he had to have obeyed the warning that had been given for a year. Why did King Nebuchadnezzar go against this warning? Was it forgetfulness, had he been listening to too many compliments and praises from those around him, or had he been bidding his time thinking that God would forget his threat.

Sometimes when a person accepts Christ as their Lord and Savior, they do not keep in his word or keep their prayer life up. When this happens, they lose what they had. They forget or just plain ignore all the teaching and warnings and mostly the fear of God. When this happens, they fall back into their old ways and they become worse than what they were.

It matters not how busy you are or how important you are, God is still in control and he does not forget. If he has given you a promise, he will keep it. If you receive a Word of Prophecy and it states something along the line of; if you will do this and this then I will do such and such, believe it and remember it because God will.

King Nebuchadnezzar did not pay heed to what Daniel said in verse 27; “break off thy sins by righteousness and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquility.” Many times Christians will not pay heed to what the Bible states and then they have to repent. Some repent before judgement falls on them and some have to experience some judgement before they repent while some never repent.

Lord, thank you for giving us the Holy Ghost who brings things to our remembrance so that we may repent for going against your will in our lives, so that we might be a better witness to those around us. Holy Ghost, you are a most welcome person in my life. Thank you. Heavenly Father, I appreciate you and love you for all the things you have led me through and all that you will walk through with me in life. Amen.

"Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." 2 Philippians 2:12

12/4/2017

2 Samuel 15:1-10

While reading this it made me think of modern day politics. Back when President Reagan was elected, he had spent at least four years running for office. He had his spots on the radio and or TV where he presented himself before the people and became a name that the nation knew. To some people he became an answer to their prayers as President and to others he became a bane or sore spot. It matters not at this time, which you think he was. What I am bringing out was that he was following Absalom’s example. Where Reagan spent four years getting the people to like or favor him Absalom spent forty years doing so, of course Absalom did not have radio or television to help him.

At this time, we know that Satan has spent thousands of years persuading people to follow him. It has worked well for him because he has almost gained control of the World. Satan has given the people what they wanted; pleasure for a season. Yet, the one place that he has had trouble finding root in, is in the heart of the people within the Church of God. Forget the name on the church, look for the name on the heart of people. I believe that God has people in all the Christian denominations.

This remnant is what Satan is trying to win over now. One of the ways was by spending years preparing people to lead them astray; pastors, teachers, praise and worship leaders, deacons, elders and board members. Do not think that all of them are leading you astray however be watchful. Once Satan had his people in places of authority, they began to change the “requirements” or standards to make it to Heaven. If you have been involved with God’s Church more than forty years you can look back and see that the Standard of the churches have slowly lowered. How much they have lowered depends on the part of the world you live in.

Now I have had it said to me that; “Oh, that was man’s law and not God’s”. Therefore, I am asking you to seek the Lord and make sure that you are following God and not man. The Bible does tell us in Philippians 2:12 to “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”. To me this is giving us fair warning that if we have believed that we should live a certain way for God and someone wants us to change then we must spend time seeking God’s opinion on the subject and follow God’s will for our lives.

Dear Lord, we need your love and mercy in our lives because we make mistakes at times and need your forgiveness. Show us your way for our lives. Show us if we need to change or if we do not need to change how we live. Give us the desire to lay aside all the things that come between us and where you want us to be. Amen.
