...Break off thy Sins by Rightousness... Daniel 4:27

12/10/2017

Daniel 4:30-33 (KJV)
30  The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?
31  While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
32  And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
33  The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.

The king had been given warning a year before this happened. We know that he had to have obeyed the warning that had been given for a year. Why did King Nebuchadnezzar go against this warning? Was it forgetfulness, had he been listening to too many compliments and praises from those around him, or had he been bidding his time thinking that God would forget his threat.

Sometimes when a person accepts Christ as their Lord and Savior, they do not keep in his word or keep their prayer life up. When this happens, they lose what they had. They forget or just plain ignore all the teaching and warnings and mostly the fear of God. When this happens, they fall back into their old ways and they become worse than what they were.

It matters not how busy you are or how important you are, God is still in control and he does not forget. If he has given you a promise, he will keep it. If you receive a Word of Prophecy and it states something along the line of; if you will do this and this then I will do such and such, believe it and remember it because God will.

King Nebuchadnezzar did not pay heed to what Daniel said in verse 27; “break off thy sins by righteousness and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquility.” Many times Christians will not pay heed to what the Bible states and then they have to repent. Some repent before judgement falls on them and some have to experience some judgement before they repent while some never repent.

Lord, thank you for giving us the Holy Ghost who brings things to our remembrance so that we may repent for going against your will in our lives, so that we might be a better witness to those around us. Holy Ghost, you are a most welcome person in my life. Thank you. Heavenly Father, I appreciate you and love you for all the things you have led me through and all that you will walk through with me in life. Amen.
