31st Annual Campmeeting - day 3

6/20/2018

6 20 RuffToday we celebrated the first service that our Women of Worth Helping Hands had during a Camp Meeting. Sister Lois Ruff opened the service with a skit based on what so many people call “The Lord’s Prayer” where God actually answers the woman as she tries to pray. This is an eye-opening skit that helps to open people’s eyes to what God wants us to do when we pray.

6 20 SmithAfter the skit and a special song Sister Carolyn Smith brought a message on the Godly trait of Longsuffering. She did it in a powerful way, I even heard a preacher say that he had never heard a sermon on one word done the way she did this one. She brought out a different trait/gift that we should have in our lives for each letter of the word. (Legacy, Obedience, Nakedness as to how we relate to others, Gifts, Strong, Unbelief, Faithful, Fellowship, Endurance, Remnant, Name, Give) If you get a chance to hear her preach, I think you will be blessed.

6 20 WingroveAfter the WoW service, Brother Gary Wingrove had an informative give and take session where he explained what has been going on with the IFGEA. He brought out that we are just starting a Mighty Men of Valor program because the men who are not ministers is just as important to the growth of our churches as the ministers are. Sister C.I. Wilson discussed the fact that she would like for our churches and ministers to submit items of how God is moving in the local churches or poems or sermons that our people have been given by God. They can be put in our monthly newsletter and/or on our website. If you want to submit something just remember space in an issue so please keep them about ½ a typed page.

6 20 praiseworshipTonight’s service opened with a spirit led praise and worship session – then the Holy Ghost took the service over, in my opinion the only way you could have left the service was by being rebellious or beyond feeling the movement of God. There was a spontaneous prayer line and I believe everyone in that line walked out different than when they got in line.

6 20 RaymondCoxBrother Raymond Cox spontaneously started preaching under the anointing about God was there and what he was doing in the lives of each person there. About nine o’clock the Holy Ghost released the service so that Brother Wingrove dismissed us to enjoy a time of fellowship after introducing a minister that was a first-time visitor to our Camp Meeting, Brother Aaron Finney from Allen, Oklahoma.

The fellowship was like every other time after a service where the Lord moved in a mighty way like we had tonight. It was hard to leave and the last person left about 10 PM.

Nice Turnout

The Lord blessed us this morning with a service that used to be called a “tarring” service. One where God is moving in a special, sweet way, where you feel his spirit in such a way that you do not want to do anything to disturb it. Where God is speaking to you, ministering to your soul’s need without you ever knowing exactly what it was you needed. To put it in words that the world can understand; it felt like a dip in the pool after a long hot day in the sun – refreshing.

Praise and Worship

When we came back for the evening service our Praise and Worship team did a wonderful job so we were spiritually ready for another almost forgotten Pentecostal event – a Jericho March. When was the last time you had a Jericho March at your church?

We had another good turnout this evening with between 30 to 40 people. After our Jericho March, Bro. Dan Gibbs brought the message. He followed last night’s service with another message on how we need to not just pray that God will save the soul of our friends, family and strangers but, to go out and minister to them. One person may lead a lost soul by themselves however, most of the time it takes more then one. As the Bible states: one to sow, one to water and one to harvest.

 Fellowship

After the service tonight, we went to the new fellowship hall and enjoyed the spacious room.  We have a small group of ladies and gentlemen that have worked in the kitchen preparing food  and cleaning up. They are a blessing and I pray that God blesses them for their gift to us.

Week 3: Last week we read about the Holy Trinity

A Study on the Holy Ghost

The following scriptures prove a Divine Trinity of separate persons in the Godhead.

1. The word one means “one in unity as well as one in number.” It means unity in 1 John 5:7 as well as it does in John 17:11, 21-23.

1 John 5:7

For there are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

John 17:11

And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one; as we are.

John 17:21-23

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one.

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Matthew 28:18-19

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Jesus is explaining the formula for water baptism. In this passage He’s giving us a look at the Godhead. In His own words He tells us there are three. “The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.” Water baptism does not wash away our sins and save us. Salvation comes when we repent of our sins and ask Jesus to come into our life. While salvation comes when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Master, water baptism is the outward sign to the world that there has been a change. It symbolizes the death of the old man of sin as we go under the water, and the new man in Christ Jesus as we rise out of the water. The water doesn’t save us; Jesus saves us by His blood washing us free from sin.

John 14:26

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 15:26

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

(Next week we will read about the three being one.

New Sanctuary Dedication

6/18/2018

Opening night of this year's Camp Meeting was also the Dedication of our new sanctuary. Brother Gary Wingrove, our Superintendant, opened our service by giving a short background of our building program starting from when the slab was poured back in 2013. The future building plans was presented with the information of finishing touches to the sanctuary, of which one is carpeting, new restroom facilities in the old sanctuary and some in the kitchen to make it easier for our volunteers that do the cooking.

New Sanctuary Ready

6/14/2018

When I arrived here in Temple, this morning I found the sanctuary ready for campmeeting. In fact, Celebration of Praise had church here last Tuesday. No it is not completed, however, it is completed enough for us to use. Work is continuing through this week with last minute things and a final cleaning. (Thanks to Sis. Colucci and Sis. Conway it looks good.) After new table coths were brought and the pews moved out of the old sanctuary a dining room started taking shape. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Come out and enjoy the moving of the spirit with us. June 18-22, 2018.
