Are you blessed?
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
Today is the first day of blessings in the rest of your life. If and only if you seek the Lord Jesus Christ with ALL of your heart, not just part of it. To seek Him with all of your heart means that you have to lay aside:
Anger
Malice
Spitefulness
Jealousy
Vengeance
Stubbornness
Rebellion
Attitudes such as: 'My way or no way' and 'You mess with me, I'll get you bac'
And the list goes on and on.
The things to be picked up are:
Love
Peace
Joy
Being helpful
Prayerfulness
Attitudes such as: God loves you too and God sent me to help
Again, the list goes on and on.
We make our life the way we want it by our actions and reactions. When you serve God and strive to do His will (put His will before your will) in your life you will find that, more good things come your way and that your attitude changes for the better. Some of us have a stubborn streak where we want our way no matter what and this hinders a blessed life. Where others actually reach out to God for change and this is something that helps a Christian grow faster.
Some of us want our opinion to be known no matter whose feelings get hurt. Others are quite and wait on hearing God's opinion about all things so they are growing faster.
Some of us put other people down and themselves up with the attitude that 'I am better than you' which hinders a good working relationship with others. Then there are those that listen to what others say with an attitude of 'Wow, that is a great idea" so they lift people up and God smiles on them.
We have all seen and maybe even shown the bad attitudes that help keep the Blessings from God away. God would love to see and hear each one of us with a spirit of humility, helpfulness, prayerfulness and a willingness to put God first in all areas of our lives. With this type of person filling every church and taking God with them outside of the church - how happy would God be?
How many of us would love to hear from God the way Jesus did the day He was baptized? "And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Matthew 3:17 (KJV)
One of these days if we are faithful to God and His will in our lives we will hear words like that. At the Great White Throne of Judgment we will hear one of two decisions"
Depart from me for I never knew you.
or
This is my beloved child, in whom I am pleased.
Which will you hear? Only you can make that decision. It is your choice to choose between living for God and living for Satan. For a blessed life, even among trials and tribulations, you have to choose to live for God with your whole heart and spend your life pleasing Him.
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving your son, Jesus, as the supreme sacrifice so that we can have the choice to make Heaven our home. Please give each one of us a desire to serve you to the best of our ability. Amen.
