An Overcoming Life

February 10, 2017

We hear a lot about living an overcoming life, and I agree that we must be over comers. The sad fact is today most people have no concept of what this means. Some think that this refers to going to church; some joining a church, some being baptized in water, but none of this is living an overcoming life. Revelations 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

To be an over comer, first we must get saved, really saved. We must have a ‘know so’ salvation. A Salvation where we know the Lord on a personal bases, no one has to tell us that we’re saved. We know that we know that we know we are saved. Jesus has come into our lives, we have surrendered control to the master, and He lives this Christian life in us and through us.

We must pray every day. We must reach the place where, when Jesus speaks, we automatically obey without thought or discussion. Wherein lays the big problem, to reach this state we must forget about secular doctrine. For this doctrine is designed to draw us away from God and His power. As a whole, most churches no longer preach against sin. Smoking, drinking immodest apparel, filthy communication, sexual immorality; these are no longer considered sins. They consider them, simply bad habits. However, according to the Bible all these are sins that will keep you out of heaven. When I say Bible, I mean the King James Version. All other versions I consider are what man wants the Bible to say, so that they can justify their own way of life.

I accepted Christ as my Lord and Saviour when I was fourteen, which was in 1962. The message of the church then was get saved, sanctified, filled with the Holy Ghost and live by God’s standards. Have a conviction that guides your life, the way that you live. Today’s church world has no standards, no convictions, and an anything goes attitude. Then we wonder why God does not move in our services? Why should He? What have we done to please God to invite Him into our midst? To show Him how much we love Him and want Him. Jesus, in Luke 6:46, states “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord and do not the things which I say”. How can the church world, as a whole, call Jesus Lord and not believe His word, and not live according to what the Word declares to be the way to eternal life. God send us revival. Bring Back The Hearts Of Your People To True Righteousness And Holiness.
