What happened between Good Friday and Easter

Today is Easter Sunday. When I was growing up people tried their best to have new clothes for Easter. Today, some people follow that tradition from years past. It matters not if we have new clothes to wear or if we have old clothes. What matters to God is that you asked Jesus to save your soul so that on resurrection morning we will come before Him in robes of white.

Recently, I had someone ask me the question; what happened between Good Friday and Easter? I thought for a little bit about how to explain it where it would be easy to understand without all the theological words that a lot of people might not be able to understand without having to look them up in a dictionary.

Good Friday represents the day that Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we might spend eternity in Heaven with Him. Easter represents the day that Jesus arose from the dead. Saturday represents the time that Jesus went to talk to the souls in Paradise to give them a chance to go the Heaven.

Because Jesus went through this experience, I want to extend to you a chance to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior so that you can spend eternity with Him.

Romans 3:23 states; “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Therefore, Jesus came and died so that your sins can be forgiven.

Jesus, I want to thank You for being willing to leave Heaven and come to earth to live as a human for some thirty-three years and then die a cruel death so that we can ask forgiveness of our sins and spend eternity in Heaven with you. Heavenly Father, thank you for the sorrow you felt when Your Son, Jesus, was hanging on the cross. I ask that you draw each person who reads this to You so that they might go to Heaven. Amen
