Thoughts on what Christmas is about
12/27/21
Yesterday was the day that we celebrate God giving us the best gift that has ever been given to mankind. He gave us His Son, Jesus. He gave us this gift because He loved us more than we can imagine. How do we show Him that we appreciate this gift? Most people ignore it and live their lives for the enemy. God gives and the devil takes away. Who do you live your life for?
John 3:16 (KJV)
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
How do we know that God and our enemy is here to steal and take away all that he can? Such as our peace of mind, our joy, our livelihood, our salvation, and our Heavenly home with Jesus. We know this when we read John 10:7-16, where Jesus likens Himself to a shepherd who takes care of the sheep and He likens His enemy to a thief that comes for no purpose other than to steal, kill, and to destroy.
John 10:7–16 (KJV)
7Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
12But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
Today, we need to make for sure that we live our lives in such a way that everyone can see Christ in us. We do not know how many people that we meet today, that may never see another Child of God. Use your time here as a worthy servant of God.
