May the Spirit of God dwell in us

12/12/21

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.                                Romans 8:6-11 KJV

As I was reading this week in Romans the eighth chapter these verses jumped out to me.

We need to keep our lives in such a state that our lives please God. In other words, we need to put God’s will before our own. Especially if we want to make Heaven our eternal home. There are so many things that we humans do that do not please God. We need to search our hearts to make sure that we are trying to please God in all areas of our lives. Not just in church attendance, doing good deeds, or learning our Bible by heart.

We are to live our lives where Christ Jesus is seen in us at ALL times; not just when we are around fellow Christians or in church. The Spirit of Christ should be seen by everyone that we meet. It is not too much for us to keep our actions and our words in line with the Bible.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus to this earth so that we can know more about you. Please place the desire in each heart that reads this to make Heaven our home and to live the life that pleases You.

Help us live the life that shows the world that You are real and give us the words to share so that others may know that living for God is worth anything that the world throws at us. Amen.
