Jesus went about ...healing all manner of sickness ...

Matthew 4:23-24 (KJV)
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
Jesus never pastored a church in a building or on television, however he preached to a congregation that was different every time. The crowds followed him from place to place, wherever he went. He could have been like some evangelist that I have heard of, that have a set of sermons and preached those sermons at every revival; however, our Bible shows us Jesus was not that way.
Jesus met the needs of each person who came to hear him preach and a lot accepted what they heard. Matthew 4:23 states that Jesus healed all manner of sickness and all manner of disease, which tells me that if you are sick or have a disease you can receive your healing from him. I think the Bible puts it that way because we know today that you can have a disease and not be sick. Diabetes is such a disease, if you watch what to eat you can live a lifetime in health, however, if you do not you can be sick.
Verse 24 adds torments. How many Christians are tormented in modern times; I have no idea about others, just myself and those that I meet. Parents whose children are not serving God are tormented by the actions of those children. Adults who do not know how to manage their finances are tormented by bill collectors. Jesus healed the tormented then and he can do it today. If, we let him, Jesus can and will bring peace to each tormented person that comes to him and lets him do his will in their lives.
Heavenly Father, Thank you for letting us know that you are with us and will not leave us no matter what comes our way. Thank you for letting us know when we stray from you and your will for us. I ask you to bless your children this year, as they grow closer to you with health, peace of mind, love and joy. May you be the most important person in their lives. Amen.
