Have you eaten today?

John 4:34-38 (KJV)
34  Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
35  Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
36  And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37  And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38  I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

We know the story of the Samaritan Woman. Today God directed me to the passage of Jesus talking to his disciples while she was in the city talking to those who would listen. Verse 34 states: My meat is to do the will of him that sent me.

For years, I have heard the old saying: A week without eating will make you weak. Talking about Christians not reading their Bible, praying or even going to church would make Christians weak and if they continued this practice that they would backslide or lose their Salvation. Here Jesus is telling us that if we do the will of God we will stay strong.

Therefore, brothers and sisters in the Lord let us do the will of God. This means we should read our Bible on a daily basis, have a special place and time for prayer yet be willing to prayer at the drop of a pin as the old saying goes. If we do this then we will not be happy sitting in a church pew doing nothing nor will we be silent outside of the church walls. We will be working in the harvest field. We will be feeding our souls while we are feeding those around us.
